Home of our Delight volunteers meeting, Mells cafe

10th February 2016

There were great conversations, suggestions and ideas at the first of our Home of our Delight volunteers’ meetings on Wednesday.
This is the first of six monthly drop in sessions in Mells Café: 2 – 4pm on the first Wednesday of the month, where all are welcome to come and find out about the project, and get more involved if they wish.
We are delighted to already have volunteers helping us photograph archives, transcribe letters and diaries, contact regimental archives and search 100 year old Somerset Standard newspapers held by Frome Museum.

But there is still lots more to do!

We currently need help in the following ways:
Searching microfiche newspaper archives at Frome Library
Help create ‘history walks’ for Mells
Support our archive photographer recording items in archives
Creating a ‘Home of our Delight’ reading box for Mells Cafe

If you can help us with any of the above, or have suggestions for other things you think we should be looking into which connect to Mells and the First World War, please get in touch, or simply come along to our next meeting 2 – 4pm on Wednesday 2 March to find out more.
