Home of our Delight volunteers session, Mells cafe

1st April 2016

Due to the Easter holidays we are postponing our next ‘Home of our Delight’ meeting at Mells Cafe until Wednesday 13 April.

Our meeting will take place between 2 – 4pm as usual; just drop in for a cup of tea and find out more.

We will be talking about transcribing, and hopefully setting up current volunteers with all they need to get started.

We will also be thinking about locations for a new hidden history walk for Mells, to launch alongside the Heritage Open Days weekend in September 2016.

We would particularly love to hear from, or meet, anyone interested in any of the following:

  • Helping us / learning with us about  ‘Historypin’, to enable us to digitally pin the images we uncover onto the locations in which they were taken (no experience needed and it is new territory for us too; just curiosity and enthusiasm)
  • Visiting Somerset Heritage Centre with us to review Parish Minutes and other material for news about village activities 1910 – 1925.
  • Researching content for one of the twelve locations on the Home of our Delight history walk around Mells.

Either join us on Weds 13 April over a cup of tea, or get in touch via the website.
